Puff Pastry Toaster Strudels ***

  • One box frozen Puff Pastry
  • Fruit Jam of your choice, or butter and brown sugar/cinnamon for filling
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar, 2 Tbs milk, few drops vanilla for glazing

Take out the puff pastry to defrost and open up and lay out on counter for at least 20 minutes. One sheet makes 3 or 6, depending on size you want. (3 per sheet are large, dessert size, 6 are better for breakfast strudels)

When defrosted, score the pastry in three long rectangles, for 3 strudels, or in 6 rectangles for 6 strudels.

Spread your preferred topping over HALF of each rectangle, leaving a 1/4" edge. Fold un-jellied top over and crimp edges with a fork to seal. Turn over and re-crimp for reinforcement. Jelly has a tendency to seep out when hot.

Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 15 minutes, or until puffy and golden brown.

When removed and cooled, drizzle with glaze in diagonal pattern.
